About the organisation:

Hamilton Legal is a unique law firm, entrusted by the Crown to represent the community’s interests in the Waikato.

The team works collaboratively with key stakeholders in central and local government agencies, providing advice and court representation across a range of proceedings including criminal prosecutions, criminal proceeds recovery, coronial inquests, parole hearings and appeals.

About the role:

As the sole representative for the Crown in the Waikato, Hamilton Legal is looking for additional professionals of all levels to join their dedicated team.

Duties and responsibilities will vary dependent upon levels of experience or subject matter expertise. You will;

• Collaborate with clients, colleagues and external parties to develop effective legal strategies and achieve favourable outcomes.
• Conduct thorough file reviews, legal research and analysis to support case preparation, identifying risks for prompt resolution.
• Review and interpret legislation, regulations and legal precedents to assess the strength of cases.
• Represent the Crown in criminal prosecutions at all levels.
• Provide advice to civil and regulatory clients and represent them in court proceedings.

About you:

Our ideal candidates will have;

• A current practicing certificate.
• Previous litigation experience.
• The ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
• A critical eye for detail and the ability to identify risks, providing solutions to minimise their impact.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, maintaining integrity and fairness.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, sometimes pressured environment.
• A focus on the community.
